MIDAS is the acronym for Munich Image Data Analysis System which is developed and mantained by ESO. The MIDAS system provides general tools for image processing and data reduction with emphasies on astronomical application. The system also contain special reduction packages for ESO instruments at La Silla. MIDAS in release - NOV-98 pl1.6 - is available at I.R.A. on the alpha axp workstations. To work with MIDAS a personal username on alpha workstations is required. you can get help with the command: man inmidas To start midas you must enter the command: inmidas The program starts asking you the mumber/type of midas session.
