SCHED: is the program used to schedule most VLBA projects and is being adopted
by the EVN (European VLBI Network) the VSOP orbiting VLBI satellite
project as the standard scheduling program for those systems.
The SCHED tasks are available at I.R.A. on the alpha axp workstations
and on the PC with Linux OS.
Note that, to avoid conflicts with the tcsh shell, the original names
sched, skedconv, schclean and uptime have been renamed as vsched, vskedconv,
vschclean, vuptime.
To work with SCHED tasks a personal username on Alpha or Linux WS is required.
The SCHED environment is initialized by default at login time. However, if the
tasks do not work in your personal account please verify that:
1) the environment variable SCHED is correctly defined (echo $SCHED):
DEC ALpha: /soft/astro/sched
PC Linux: /usr/local/sched
2) the directory /usr/local/bin is present in your path (echo $PATH)
3) the existence of both the SCHED directory and the tasks
vschclean, vsched, vskedconv, vuptime in the /usr/local/bin
directory.

SCHED is a program for scheduling Very Long Baseline Interferometer (VLBI)
Observations. Currently, it can be used to schedule VLBA and Mark III
observations on antennas that use the VLBA real time control software.
Support for Mark IV observations on any station that can read VEX
format schedule is being added. It can be used to schedule any Mark II
observations.
To work with sched use the command: vsched
or: vsched < input.key
SKEDCONV can convert the DRUDG file from PC-SCHED (or SKED) into a SCHED
input file.
To work with skedconv use the command: vskedconv
SCHCLEAN is a shell script that delete the output files produced by sched
task.
To work with schclean use the command: vschclean <schedname>
UPTIME computes rise and set times.
To work with uptime use the command: vuptime
