flux[/qualifiers]
Converts instrument count-rate into flux in erg cm**-2 s**-1. The flux can be estimated both at the detector or before absorption by the Galaxy. The energy band where flux is calculated depends on the instrument specified. If no qualifiers are given, the user is prompted for all the critical information. Only EXOSAT CMA1 and CMA2 and Einstein HRI are implemented.
This specifies the name of the instrument to be considered. Supported instruments are: LE1, LE2 (EXOSAT Low energy imaging telescopes with CMA at focus), and the HRI (Einstein).
The Galactic interstellar absorption in units of atoms cm
The Energy slope for power law model
Temperature in keV for Black Body and Thermal Bremsstrahlung models
Spectral model to be used for the conversion. Supported models are:
power law -> model=pl black body -> model=bb thermal bremsstrahlung -> model=tb
The filter used in conjunction with EXOSAT CMA. The following filter coding should be used:
Polypropylene -> filter=2 Thick lexan -> filter=3 Al/Parylene -> filter=6 Thin lexan -> filter=7 Boron -> filter=8
Logical qualifier specifying whether the flux has to be corrected for Galactic absorption. If this qualifiers is not specified the flux is calculated at the detector.
the instrument count-rate, x, in units of counts/s
Examples:
flux/mod=pl/sl=0.7/nh=3.e20/cou=.002/inst=le1/filt=7 Calculate a flux corresponding to a count rate of 2.e-3 ct/s in the CMA1 + thin lexan filter assuming a power law model with energy index equal to 0.7 and nh=3.e20. No correction for Galactic absorption is applied.
