Cristiana Spingola

Ciao and welcome to my homepage!

I am a staff astronomer at the INAF Institute for Radioastronomy in Bologna (Italy).
In my research I use strong gravitational lensing and very long baseline interferometry (VLBI)
to study the physics of supermassive black holes at cosmological distances and learn about dark matter distribution at high redshift. Publications can be browsed here .

I graduated at the University of Bologna in Astrophysics and Cosmology in 2014, and obtained my PhD at the University of Groningen in 2019 with a thesis entitled "Gravitational lensing at milliarcsecond angular resolution". Since then, I was post-doc at the University of Groningen/ASTRON (until 2019), University of Bologna (until 2021) and INAF Institute for Radioastronomy (until 2023).

I've held positions both in astrophysics and in renewable energies, advocating for cross-disciplinary research and a sustainable development of astrophysics.
